What people ask us.
What is Hood?
Hood is a hyperlocal shopping app for Hyderabad, India. It lets you order groceries, medicines, gifts, bakery items, flowers, pet supplies and other daily needs from independent shops in your own neighbourhood. Unlike warehouse-based delivery apps, the shop you order from packs and delivers the order itself, so the money you spend stays with businesses on your own street.
Which city is the Hood app available in?
Hood is live in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Open the app and it shows the shops that are actually near your delivery address.
How is Hood different from Blinkit, Zepto or Swiggy Instamart?
Those apps deliver from their own warehouses and dark stores, and they set the prices. Hood has no warehouse. It is a discovery and ordering layer on top of the real shops already on your street — the kirana store, the chemist, the bakery, the florist. Each shop lists its own products, sets its own prices with no forced discounts or hidden markups, and does its own delivery. Hood charges shops a flat subscription rather than a commission per order.
What can I order on Hood?
Groceries, medicines, gifts, daily needs, bakery and sweets, boutique clothing, flowers and pet supplies — whatever the shops around your corner already stock.
Who delivers my Hood order?
The shop you ordered from delivers it. There is no third-party fleet in between, so you get familiar faces, familiar streets and real accountability for your order.
How do I sell on Hood and bring my shop online?
Shop owners sign up for Hood Partner, the seller app. You keep your own prices, your own delivery and every rupee of the sale — Hood charges a flat subscription and takes 0% commission. Setup takes minutes and needs no technical skills.
Is Hood an Indian app?
Yes. Hood is built and operated in India and is live in Hyderabad, working directly with local neighbourhood shopkeepers.
How do I delete my Hood account and data?
Email thehoodapp.in@gmail.com from the address linked to your account and the Hood team will delete your account and associated data.
