Privacy Policy — Hood & Hood Partner

1. Information we collect from customers (Hood app)

• Phone number: collected for account creation and login via one-time password (OTP) verification. This is required to use the app.
• Location: with your permission, we access your device location to detect your delivery address and show nearby stores. You can also enter your address manually.
• Delivery details: the name, address, and contact information you provide for order delivery.
• Order information: the items you order and the stores you order from.

2. Information we collect from store owners (Hood Partner app)

• Phone number: collected for store owner account creation and login via OTP verification. Required to use the Partner app.
• Store profile information: store name, store address, and store location/coordinates that you provide when setting up or updating your store. This is used to display your store to nearby customers and to define your service area.
• Device location: with your permission, we may access your device location to help set your store location and to power service-radius and map features within the Partner app.
• Incoming order data: to fulfil orders, the Partner app shows you the customer's name, phone number, delivery address, and ordered items for orders placed at your store. You may only use this information to fulfil and support that specific order.
• Operational data: order status updates you set (accepted, prepared, out for delivery, delivered) and basic store activity needed to operate the service.

3. How we use this information

• To create and secure customer and store owner accounts.
• To show customers nearby active stores and enable ordering.
• To route each order to the correct store and share the customer's delivery details with that store, since stores handle their own fulfilment and delivery.
• To let store owners manage their store profile, receive orders, and update order status in the Hood Partner app.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve both apps.

4. Sharing your information

• Customer → Store: when a customer places an order, their name, phone number, delivery address, and order items are shared with the store fulfilling that order via the Hood Partner app.
• Store → Customer: the store's public profile (name, category, area, banner) is shown to customers in the Hood app.
• Service providers: we share data with providers who help us operate — SMS/OTP delivery, cloud hosting and database (Supabase).
• We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data storage and security

All data from both the Hood and Hood Partner apps is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and stored securely using our cloud database provider, with access controls (row-level security) to restrict who can read customer and store data. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and to meet legal obligations.

6. Your choices and rights

• Customers and store owners may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting us at thehoodapp.in@gmail.com.

7. Children

Neither Hood nor Hood Partner is intended for users under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. This URL will remain the privacy policy for both apps.
